About The Bluemerle Bakery
I've always had a passion for baking, especially breads. I'm fascinated by the incredible variations in a product made from the same simple ingredients. It intrigues me that I can make a particular loaf of bread all summer long that mixes, rises, and bakes perfectly but that same recipe attempted in the winter can be a near flop! If I rush just a little or unexpectedly have to prolong a stage in the process, things may not come out as expected. Some times these changes are not good but sometimes they are amazing! I'm constantly experimenting, reading or consulting with other experts to find the reasons and solutions to consistency and creating new variations.
I love and find comfort in baking and eating bread. It's rewarding, therapeutic, and meditative. I also savor opportunities to create new baked goods using new ingredients, techniques, and shapes.
What about the name Bluemerle?

Bluemerle is a color seen in some dog breeds. This is Olive, a gentle, funny, smart and beautiful Great Dane. She was my best friend ever and the inspiration for the name Bluemerle Bakery. You will likely see her pictures pop up occasionally.
Our Products
The Bluemerle makes many delicious savory and sweet baked goods in addition to a wonderful selection of breads. Whenever possible we obtain ingredients locally from other small businesses. Some of our products even come from our own garden! We also sell our own packages of special spice mixes that can be used to make dipping oils for our breads.
Besides purchasing for your own enjoyment you can contact us for special catering requests. No party is too small, just the two of you having a special dinner? Order some wonderful homemade bread or cake for the occasion. We are also available to set up kiosk style to sell at artisan and farmers markets, or fund raising events.
Our products now include a limited variety of Keto, vegan, and gluten free baked goods.
Our menu lists some of the more popularly requested items but you can always contact us with new suggestions,
different ingredient requests, or other questions. If it's at all possible we will try to honor these requests. Periodically we may add new products or offer holiday specialties.
